Do You Have a Vacant Property and Don’t Know How to Rent It?
It is estimated that at least 1 in 10 homes in the City of Buenos Aires are vacant. The reasons behind this phenomenon are diverse and stand in stark contrast to the high level of housing deficit.
Many people own properties that do not meet rental market standards or fail to comply with formal requirements. As a result, hundreds of properties remain waiting to be rented, systematically decreasing in value and generating fixed costs for their owners, in addition to lost income.
These properties represent an opportunity—and a market in themselves—provided that tailored conditions are offered and their specific challenges are addressed. A similar situation exists on the demand side, where thousands of people are unable to access the formal rental market due to formal requirements, despite having a proven payment history in the informal market.
In response to this widely studied diagnosis, Habitat for Humanity Argentina—an NGO committed to improving housing conditions—is developing a model aimed at integrating a new market segment by connecting supply and demand that currently remain unmet. As part of designing this solution, we are inviting property owners whose homes face difficulties in being rented.
If this applies to you or someone you know, we invite you to take part in a brief questionnaire to help us design solutions that adapt to real needs.
