Global Village is a program that gives people from other countries the opportunity to live an experience within another culture, while working with families building a new home.
In Argentina, the program consists of trips of a week and a half or two in which groups of volunteers from the United States, Canada or Europe seek to contribute to the mission of Habitat for Humanity Argentina by helping in various tasks such as the construction of a new house, extension or repair of an existing home, community development work.
Both volunteers and families not only overcome cultural and language barriers but also experience a cultural exchange where they learn to celebrate differences and recognize similarities.
As of March 2020, this program was suspended as we knew it. This gave us the opportunity to organize virtual meetings that we are developing during this year.

Virtual Global Village:
This year, we managed to create a virtual journey in order to keep on supporting vulnerable families and to learn more about Hábitat Argentina’s projects and the history and culture of the country.
In October we are starting a new virtual journey, in which we will get to know the families that are being supported by this trip, learn about the improvements made in their homes and play some fun games about Argentina. You can join us and engage in this build from your home!
This journey is composed of 5 Sunday meetings through Zoom (Oct. 24 and 31 – Nov 7, 14 and 21) and the ticket is $ 250. All the money raised is used for the home improvement of the selected family.
This is an amazing way to meet and help Argentinian families and to learn more about all the things that we can do to keep on building bridges, even during a pandemic.
